UBI Seminar Was Held, Speeches in the Web
The 1st Open Ubiquitous Oulu Seminar" was held at Culture House Valve on June 2nd. The international keynote speakers of the seminar were Japan's leading expert in ubiquitous information processing Professor Hideyuki Tokuda from Keio University and the Head of the Department of Architecture in Newcastle University, UK, Dr. Alessandro Aurigi. Aurigi specializes in utilizing ICT technology in urban planning. In addition, Professor Timo Ojala and Dr. Aulikki Herneoja discussed the case of Oulu as a ubiquitous city.

Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Awards special mention to MobiSpray
MobiSpray (http://mobispray.com/) created in the UbiLife project got a special mention in the Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Awards for a creative concept combining traditional media and natural interaction to paint big pieces of urban art. The creator of MobiSpray is Jürgen Scheible from the University of Art & Design Helsinki.
The purpose of the Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Awards was to encourage makers of digital media to generate ideas and develop new and innovative ubimedia products & services.

Asian-European Workshop on Ubiquitous Computing 31.7.-1.8.
Ubilife project and the University of Oulu arranged an Asian-European Workshop on Ubiquitous Computing at the University of Oulu 31st July-1st August 2008. In addition to members of University of Oulu and University of Lapland, the participants were invited guests from Tokyo Denki University, Keio University, Technical University of Braunschweig, University of Karlsruhe and Lancaster University.
